Simple Way #5

We all need a little encouragement at times.  And sometimes it takes a little objectivity and perspective for us to truly hear the words that need to be said.  Today’s Simple Way is to take a step back and write yourself a note.  Yes (however silly), you are going to write a note sharing the things that you need to hear at this moment or season in your life.

Take a few minutes and think it through.  What are the words you need to hear?  Grab some pretty paper and fun pens and with renewed perspective, write your note.  Make it long or keep it short; there is no right or wrong.  Then before you go to bed, hang the note on your bathroom mirror (or hide it in your drawer if you don’t want your spouse to think you’re nuts!).

What will you write?  Share if you are willing.  : )

I’ll start:

Dear Kristen,
You are doing a fine job!  Don’t be discouraged when you don’t get everything done on your list.  You can’t do it all.  Why do you try?  Take time to slow down, enjoy all the precious moments with your kids; they won’t be this size forever.  Keep in mind those things which are lasting and eternal.  Relish in the love God has for you.  Be thankful more, think of others more and eagerly watch as the Lord moves in your life.

31 Simple Ways to Celebrate Today is a series designed to help you laugh a little more, act with others in mind and even enjoy a little silliness . . . and most definitely, to cause you to break from the busyness of your life with intentional little moments of fun.
